wow...interesting. Hmm, i think kids are too addicted to computers. it's supposed to help them, not keep them from doing the more important things.

Most of these students are not even commited to what they're learning and yet they still pay for their expensive education. i wonder what it is that keeps them from not going to school at all.

This video really made me think about the power of media and technology and how students are being affected. It's sad how technology is taking over people's lives today. They can't have a balanced lifestyle because they're constantly distracted by technology and social networks like Facebook and Twitter. It seems like people have forgotten what really matters in life. Like the video said, technology can be good but it can also be a bad thing. I'm worried what is to come with new advances in technology because people are getting so into it to the point where they neglect the things in life that are much more important.

The video opens with a quote from 1967 indicating the education system then had too much structure and not enough relevant material. There’s more technology today that we’re trying to fit into an old fashioned educational system. The education system is not meeting the needs of today’s students. There is much more technology that could be used to enrich the students’ experience but instead is distracting. We are not being prepared for the problems that face society like poverty, war, debt, climate change etc. However, instead of the students going on Facebook during class and complaining that the teacher doesn’t know their name, they should make more of an effort to approach the teacher and improve their learning experience. There should be better communication between students and teachers so that learning can be more meaningful.
